PO Process

Turns out that in Maplewood, some vacations “are more equal than others”.  At the first Planning Board hearing for JMF’s proposal it was decided that a special meeting would convene on August 31st to continue the hearing.   That’s one of those family black-out days between the last summer weekend and the start of school.  We all know them too well.   For years we’ve been assured by Mayor DeLuca and Jerry Ryan that the Planning Board would be the place for the public to comment on the PO proposal.   Now we are left with the choice:  Return home from vacation early?  Forego that last swim?  Go to Staples first, while you can still see the cashier in the distance?  Or attend this critical meeting?  In a parallel move that only Donald Trump could justify, the Township Committee meeting this past Tuesday was cancelled.  Why?  Silly birds, it’s vacation time!   If this doesn’t feel right, please contact our elected official and the Planning Board chair.
PLANNING BOARD MEETING TONITE: 8/31 7:30 at Town Hall. Your opportunity to ask questions about the proposed development and design of the Maplewood Village Post Office site. This development will affect the Village forever. It’s important to attend the Planning Board Meetings. Do it for your Town!
