CHS Peter Eisenman and Richard Meier Panel

Some of the members of OhNo attended the Architect discussion at CHS hosted by the Maplewood Memorial Idea Festival and with the permission of the member who took this video, we have uploaded the video to our Youtube channel as well!

Peter Eisenman, FAIA and Richard Meier, FAIA, renowned architects who grew up in Maplewood and South Orange, New Jersey spoke on March 23, 2015 at Columbia High School, their alma mater. They discussed and supported adaptive re-use of the Maplewood Post Office building, a 1958 mid-century era building. They criticized the massive over-scaled mixed-use blocks recently completed or under construction in the area, using the newly finished block next to the train in South Orange as an example. They spoke lovingly of Maplewood Village, it’s scale and quaint affect.
